Our supply chain at Farmers Business Network has been built to deliver the exact products you want, on time, and in the most cost-effective way. In order to make delivery as easy as possible for you, we’ve made many improvements to our supply chain and warehouse system for the 2018 season.
Warehouse and Distribution Centers
We have a series of distribution centers strategically located around the United States so that we can deliver product in the most effective way to your farm.
At the heart of this system is a brand-new, 100,000 square-foot state-of-the-art distribution center near Des Moines, Iowa. We located this center close to the both the interstate system and several large trucking companies to help deliver products to you. The entire warehouse is designed to optimize distribution.
Our nine warehouses around the country are are now stocked with millions of dollars worth of product based on the orders that you’ve submitted. We will have all products ordered during pre-season prepared well in advance so that we’ll be ready for the exact delivery times that you want.
We’ll continue to look for opportunities to place small, in-season regional warehouses that will be helpful for you in-season. Those will come “pop-up style” during the year to fill your unique seasonal needs.
Order Processing and Warehouse Management
Our warehouses are only as effective as their management systems. So this year, we’ve upgraded our entire order processing and warehouse management systems to ensure very high accuracy on orders being picked and packed.
As we’ve grown, we’ve moved from a set of spreadsheets to an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning system which will help make sure we have all orders accurately picked, packed, and shipped. This helps us fulfill our promise to get you the exact products you’ve ordered.
A Great Delivery Experience
You should be able to order with FBN Direct from your recliner and expect it to show up exactly the way you want. You don’t have to do anything but lift a finger! Ensuring a great delivery experience is the final part of making ordering truly easy for you.
Our sales teams will work closely to understand how exactly you want product delivered to your farm—do you want it by the big oak tree on the driveway, or do you want it brought up to the barn? We’ll instruct our delivery teams to follow your directions exactly. If there’s anything we can do to help you unload the cargo, we will. Communicate with us if you have special needs so that we can properly prepare to bring you cargo with the least amount of disruption to your farm.
The greatest thing I can do for our customers is to make everything simple for you—my favorite thing about my job is when I meet farmers and they tell me how easy it was to order!
